27th Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Holy Quran competition enters qualifying stage with 2630 participants

The qualifying rounds of the 27th edition of the Sheikh Hind bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition will commence on 5 October 2026, organised by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, affiliated with the Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities. The competition has attracted 2,630 male and female participants, reflecting strong community engagement and keen competition across the various categories.

All qualifying stages will be conducted remotely, beginning with the first stage from 5 to 15 October. Tests will be held from Monday to Thursday, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Following the completion of the first stage, the competition will proceed to the final stage, held during the same hours. The male finals will take place from 24 to 29 October, followed by the female finals from 31 October to 5 November, culminating in the announcement of the results across the various competition categories.

Ibrahim Jassim Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, said that the launch of the qualifying rounds with 2,630 participants reflects the distinguished standing that the Sheikh Hind bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition has established over 27 editions, as well as the trust and strong participation it enjoys among families and members of the community. He noted that the qualifying rounds represent a key stage for showcasing outstanding Quranic talents through a specialised judging system based on precise and unified standards that ensure equal opportunities and high-quality assessment of memorisation, recitation and Quranic performance.

He added that the growing number of participants and the diversity of the competition categories, including categories dedicated to specific groups such as senior Emirati citizens and new Muslims, demonstrate the competition’s commitment to expanding its reach and impact across different segments of society. This transforms the competition into an inspiring platform that encourages mastery, excellence and a strong connection with the Holy Quran. He also commended the efforts of the judging committees and organising teams in efficiently managing the various stages of the competition and selecting the winners based on objective and transparent criteria.

The 27th edition gains renewed momentum as thousands of participants move from registration to actual competition before the judging committees. This reflects the competition’s continuity and its ability to attract participants from diverse age groups and backgrounds, while fostering a culture of excellence in memorising, reciting and mastering the Holy Quran.

Through the competition, the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, affiliated with the Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, continues to develop its Quranic programmes and competitions, enhance the quality of their outcomes and strengthen their community impact.
